Cristian Luchian

Cristian Luchian is a visual artist and theatre director with over 20 years of experience in the creative industries. Integrating artistic, communication, and technical competencies in IT and multimedia, he has developed a professional trajectory across graphic & digital design. His portfolio also includes mixed-media painting, photography, video, projection mapping and special effects, site-specific installations, as well as theatre and performance directing. He specializes in projects supported by cultural, creative, and educational partners, public cultural and heritage institutions.

Living in London between 2011 and 2019, Cristian Luchian directed theatre productions, ran his own art and design studio, and developed notable collaborations with the Romanian Cultural Centre under the Rațiu Family Foundation and the Romanian Cultural Institute in London. He contributed to the establishment of the first Romanian theatre space in London, titled Acasă in Belgrave Square. These collaborations, together with his broader theatre and visual arts activities, led to a 2018 award from the Romanian Embassy in UK in recognition of his significant contribution to supporting and promoting Romanian culture in the United Kingdom.

Currently based in Cluj-Napoca — the city where he trained as a theatre director — Cristian works as an entrepreneur and art director and has founded the creative company Timeland Odyssey, specializing in branding, communication, and CSR marketing, particularly for the cultural sector.
